How Does the System Work?

1. Your member who has the "Can Create Gift Link" permission (assigned from XenForo Group Permissions) sees a "Gift to Friends" button at the bottom while reading a paid article.

2. When they click this button, the system generates a unique link specifically for that person and that article, backed by an encrypted token (e.g., site.com/blog/great-article?gift=xj94k2L). If the same user wants to generate a gift link again for the same article, the system generates a brand new link and completely invalidates the previously generated link. In this way, users can stop the uncontrolled spread of old links on the internet and destroy the current link.
3. Your member drops this link on Reddit or into a 500-person WhatsApp group.
4. Everyone who comes through this link (thanks to your member) reads the content completely free and without a paywall!

Abuse Prevention (Anti-Piracy Limits)

What happens if a person throws the Gift Link they generated into a massive WhatsApp or Telegram group? Will they all read the entire site for free? No! You can set a "Gift Link Click Limit" from the XenPress Configuration Center -> Paywall (Content Lock) tab. For example, if you set this limit to 10, the gift link will only open for the first 10 people. When the 11th person clicks the link, they will fall to the lock screen with the warning "The usage period/quota of this gift link has expired". To gift unlimitedly, you can set the quota to 0.
