XenPress Shield: Pirate Hunter and Reverse DNS
Unlike ordinary blog add-ons, XenPress Paywall cannot be bypassed with a simple "IP check" or "cookie deletion". The XenPress Shield infrastructure we have developed works like a fully equipped military shield against bots and pirates trying to exploit your content.
Shield Hierarchy and Operating Logic
The diagram below shows how an ordinary visitor is inspected in milliseconds by the Shield the moment they enter your site:
1. Fake Bot Hunt with Reverse DNS
When you turn on the Bot Bypass feature for search engine indexing, spiders like Googlebot or YandexBot can see the content without a lock.
However, malicious users might change their browser identity (User-Agent) to "Googlebot" and try to bypass the paywall. XenPress Shield throws an instant Reverse DNS query to the incoming request's IP address and verifies at the hardware level whether the IP actually comes from Google servers. Fraudsters are instantly kicked out.
2. Device Fingerprinting
The moment a user steps onto your site; a unique Device Identity (Fingerprint) is encrypted based on their screen resolution, hardware architecture, and browser engine, and is engraved into localStorage. Even if the user says "Clear cookies", this trace remains permanent.
3. Hybrid Detection Engine (VPN Protection)
If the user turns on a VPN or uses an Incognito Tab, the Shield's Hybrid Detection Engine kicks in. A covert cross-validation is performed by combining the user's IP hash value and browser identity. Even if your reader changes their disguise, they are recognized by the way they walk!
Performance Architecture
This entire massive security shield is compiled to run directly on XenForo's repository (database) layer and within milliseconds. It absolutely does not create any additional load (CPU/RAM consumption) on your server.
